Virginia Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program (EISTC): Schools and Communities

School Benefits

The EISTC allows schools to receive contributions in the form of scholarships on behalf of students and families. Schools would do well to educate their contributors and supporters about the advantages of utilizing the EISTC for the sake of improving access to Christian education.

These are private contributions to private Scholarship Granting Organizations, giving out scholarships to families who choose to attend private schools. The only state of Virginia “transaction” involved in the process is the tax-credit the contributor receives on their state taxes.

Historically, SGOs have operated with a cap of about 10% for administrative costs. Limits will soon be finalized through the federal rulemaking process.

Community Benefits

RVSF engages individuals and businesses in Virginia in community transformation through the Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program. The foundation enables donors to receive qualified tax credits while providing eligible children in Virginia the opportunity to receive Christian worldview education.

Students are able to receive a quality education based on Christian values and biblical principles.

Parents get to choose where their children are educated.

Communities are strengthened as a result of students who are well educated and often project into society the principles and values they have learned.
